Highland Coffees is committed to bringing you the finest coffees, teas, and related products in the most efficient and speedy way possible. The following information covers options and details related to our shipment policies and practices. Please contact us if there are any further ways we can make your shipping experience with us better. We appreciate your choice to shop online with us. Louisiana customers receive a small discount for all shipments made within the state.
Because freshness is such an important part of coffee flavor, we roast our coffees in small batches throughout the week and ship coffee to our online customers soon after roasting. Depending on the shipping option you choose, you can have delicious, fresh-roasted coffee at your home or office just a few days after roasting.
Shipment Carriers
We use the US Postal Service and UPS as our primary shippers, both for ground and expedited delivery shipments. We use the US Postal Service for shipments to P.O. Boxes since UPS does not provide P.O. Box service. UPS Standard Ground is our default shipping method, though we use the US Postal Service for faster delivery in many cases. At this time, Highland Coffees only ships within the continental US. If you have a shipping preference between UPS and the US Postal Service, based on experience in your particular location, you may specify it in the Special Instructions section of the Payment screen of your order.
Time to Shipment
Most orders are shipped within two days of placement on business days, pending credit card authorization. (Note: UPS does not receive packages for shipment on the weekend.) If you choose an expedited shipping method (UPS Second Day Air or UPS Next Day Air), please keep in mind that your order may still take two days to be filled before being shipped. Even with expedited shipping, if the transit time includes a weekend, your package may take longer to arrive.
Delivery Service Levels
Highland Coffees offers the following shipping delivery levels. The following section provides general descriptions of the service terms and requirements of each level.
- UPS Standard Ground Shipping (default shipping method)
UPS Standard Ground Shipping from Highland Coffees is available only within the continental US. Ground shipping rates start at $6.95 (up to two pounds), regardless of the shipping zone you live in. Higher charges apply for packages of higher weights. (See below rate chart.) Please allow up to seven days (or longer if weekends are involved) with UPS ground service to receive your order. If you do not receive your order by that time, please contact us. Saturday delivery is not available for Standard Ground Shipping. - UPS Second Day Air
UPS Second Day Air shipping from Highland Coffees is available only within the continental US. To ship your order Second Day Air, please insert the phrase "UPS Second Day Air" in the Special Instructions section of the Payment screen of your order. Rates for this service vary by weight and by the distance from Highland Coffees the package is being sent. (See below rate chart.) Orders placed with Second Day Air shipping generally arrive in two business days after shipment. Saturday delivery is available with Second Day Air for an additional UPS charge. This service is not available for P.O. Boxes. Please contact us via email with any questions about shipping Second Day Air. UPS Next Day Air shipping from Highland Coffees is available only within the continental US. To ship your order using Next Day Air, please insert the phrase "UPS Next Day Air" in the Special Instructions section of the Payment screen of your order. Rates for this service vary with package weight and distance from Highland Coffees the package is being sent. (See below rate chart.) Orders shipped using Next Day Air generally arrive one day after shipment. Saturday delivery is available with Next Day Air for an additional UPS charge. Next Day Air service is not available for P.O. Boxes. Please send via email any questions about Next Day Air service. We only ship within the continental United States at this time.
Shipping to Multiple Locations
Highland Coffees can ship the same order to multiple addresses if you wish to send our products to multiple destinations at once. To request a multiple location shipment, simply enter your list of complete addresses in the Special Instructions section of the Payment screen of your order, and we will ship each package individually to each specified address and provide you a final, consolidated bill reflecting total product and total shipment costs. The same order will go to all recipients. If you want to send different items to different people, you must create separate orders. On the packing slip included with each shipment, the prices for the items you have sent will not be shown. Please contact us via email if you have any questions. If you wish to send multiple packages as gifts, and include separate gift messages, please consult our Gift Shipments section.

Shipping Charges and Shipping Rate Chart
The following section provides further explanation related to the service level options found in the Highland Coffees Shipping Rate Chart. Our goal at Highland Coffees is to make the shipping of our products as easy to arrange and as affordable for customers as we can. In order to achieve this goal, we absorb part of the shipping costs that are incurred. Shipping charges are based on the weight of the packages being sent. The below Shipping Rate Chart outlines our shipping charges. Specific information related to each charge level includes the following:
- UPS Standard Ground Shipping Charges
Charges to ship using UPS Standard Ground Shipping are fixed but subject to change given escalating fuel surcharges. Charges start at $6.95 for either one- or two-pound packages, regardless of the shipping zone you live in within the continental US. A small discount is provided for most shipments within Louisiana. The reduced shipping fee for Louisiana shipments as viewable in the below chart will be applied at the time of payment processing and will be noted on the final invoice that ships with ordered products. - P.O. Boxes Shipping Charges
Since UPS does not deliver to P.O. Boxes, all deliveries to P.O. Boxes will be shipped by way of the US Postal Service and will be charged USPS rates. Highland Coffees does not offer tracking numbers for orders sent to P.O. Boxes. - Expedited Shipping Charges
For expedited service and shipping to P.O. Boxes, your shipping charge will vary depending on which part of the country you live in. In our below shipping chart, a price range is shown for each of these shipping methods and for every package weight. The closer you live to Highland Coffees, the lower your charge will be within each price range for these shipping options. If you would like to know exactly how much a shipment going to a particular location will cost using an expedited shipping method, please request this information in the Special Instructions section of the Payment screen when you place your order, and we will contact you with that information before shipping. For any order requiring special shipping or handling procedures, extra fees may be charged. We will notify you before processing if extra charges will be due. If you have any questions regarding shipping or if any special shipping arrangements are needed, please contact us via email.

Transit Days
The above UPS Map for Ground Shipping shows approximately how many package transit days are required to any given location in the country. Please keep in mind that UPS does not offer weekend delivery for ground shipments. Saturday delivery is available with both UPS Second Day Air and UPS Next Day Air service for an additional UPS charge. Around holidays, please allow for an additional two or three days of delivery time because of the increased volume of packages UPS carries during such periods.
Tracking
To aid you in tracking your order once it has been shipped, a UPS tracking number will be sent to you by email at order shipment time. Highland Coffees does not offer tracking numbers for orders sent to P.O. Boxes. To track your shipment, enter your tracking number on http://www.ups.com/.
How to Save on Shipping
Shipping more coffee at a time lowers the cost of shipping per pound of coffee. Also, the shipping price for two pounds of coffee is the same as the price for one pound. You may want to find a balance between trying to save on shipping and having fresh coffee beans at home. If you order too much coffee, your shipping costs may be lower but your coffee will take longer to consume and will thus not be as fresh through the entire supply. Try to set up shipment to physical addresses rather than P.O. Boxes since shipping to P.O. Boxes is generally more expensive.
Return Shipments/Policy
Exchanges or requests for refunds must follow the guidelines outlined in our Return Policy and Procedures. Highland Coffees has a 45-day return policy on all its products sold through this website. Please do not send products back without first contacting us because in some cases products do not need to be returned. If products are returned without contacting Highland Coffees first, you may be responsible for paying the return shipping costs. Returns must be initiated within forty-five days from the date of shipping to the customer to be eligible for refund or replacement.
